LBTS WEST COMMERCIAL BLVD

Location: Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Florida

Completed: Year 2013

The streetscape project was looking for the creation of a path that links the main retail along Commercial Blvd. with the ocean front. The generation of paved pedestrian plazas allowed to provide a better connection for stores from the street. The landscape buffer was critical to provide safety to pedestrians as they stroll the Blvd. The main entry sculpture created by Artist Laura Fischer announces the entry of the town. The base designed by our landscape team complements the theme used by the Town with the adirondack chairs. The plazas are complemented with isolated sculptures that talk about the town and its marine culture. The parking lots were updated with new layouts to allow more parking and less traffic congestion and finally, the change in paving materials and modification of the road allowed the  addecuated vehicular speed for pedestrian protection.

My work on this project was to assist the design team from design development thru construction documents of the landscape and hardscape elements including the pedestrian lighting.
