JWU PEDESTRIAN PLAZA

Location: North Miami, Florida

Completed: Year 2012

JWU Johnson & Wales University Miami Campus Pedestrian Plaza was a project with the needs of a walking/gathering area for students to be converted in a place to meet, see and be seen. The project converted the existing main road of the campus that passes by the main building into a pedestrian plaza that adapts to public activities, providing students with furniture along the walk to serve as open areas of study and congregation. Tropical shade landscape was provided with a very colorful palette. Different patterns of paving were used to mitigate the straight axis of the road and make the space felling wider and innovative.

My work on this project started from construction documents and construction administration.
